Rice bran is an important edible by-product from rice milling, used primarily as an animal feed. Rice bran (26Kg) is a nutritious feedstuff, rich in protein, fat, fiber, vitamins and minerals. These nutrients help improve growth, digestion and health in cattle, poultry, pigs and fish. However, because of the oil content in the bran it can become rancid quickly, and therefore is often processed prior to use. The low cost and availability of rice bran have made it a widely used, and economical, feedstuff in many areas of agriculture.
